The Tony Awards
When the Tony Awards approached us they were utilizing giant Post-It Notes® and word documents to organize ALL data associated with the awards! Our task was to build an extremely flexible application to streamline storage of all entity, show, and theater data, track the nominee and winner selection process and pertinent notes, and generate extremely detailed reporting.

They are now saving HUNDREDS OF HOURS each year now that everything is automated.

The Approach
Gathering and designing for the multiple scenarios were definitely a challenge. The rule of the project became "all rules will need to be broken at some point". A few examples: cast/crew names can be different for each production; productions may change cast/crew and theaters which affects eligibility; careful mapping of quick entry vs. ensuring critical information is entered; nominees can be individuals or groups, but group entity individuals can change per production, just to name a few.
